1980, Algeria. Two women meet. Maguy, a French woman in her sixties, lost her son Simon during the Algerian War, 20 years earlier. She decided after all these years to go to Algeria on the scene of the death of Simon to try to mourn until then impossible. Aisha lived in the douar where Simon was killed when she was a child. She will tell Maguit the events of that tragic day in 1960 when her village was surrounded by the French military. These two women whom everything seems to oppose will interweave their stories, going back in time through memories of "their wars". Throughout history, the personal destinies of anonymous men are unveiled here in the turmoil of wars that crush them, men with designs that intersect and cross each other.
